Transport

Plant Hire offers a wide range of commercial transport options for the end user. All the fleet is under four years old and currently comprises of:

  • 4 x 4 all terrain vehicles
  • Ford transits/Mercedes sprinters 
  • (selection of models available)
  • Small LCV vans (car derived vans)
  • 26t and 32t grab lorries 
  • 7.5t tippers

All vehicles supplied have the correct corporate livery and are delivered and collected free of charge. The weekly hire rate also includes:

  • Full maintenance
  • Road fund licence
  • Servicing and maintenance
  • Breakdown and recovery and a relief vehicle within two hours should any breakdowns occur (this varies when dealing with HGVs - grab lorries and 7.5t tippers will be replaced by the start of business the next day)

All vehicles supplied meet the approval of Morgan Sindall’s strict health and safety policy regarding in vehicle equipment and on board welfare facilities. Additional features can be added upon request. Part of the transport package on offer from Magnor Plant includes total operator license management.  This ensures that tough legislation and guidelines put forward by the Department of Transport are met. All staff dealing with transport issues are CPC Qualified (this is the certificate of professional competence for dealing with national road haulage).

All grab lorries are supplied with:

  • Thompson Loadmaster or Massey Maxim Body
  • HMF 1144/1244 Muck away crane

Vehicle operators license

Only vehicles supplied by Morgan Sindall authorised suppliers can be utilised.

  • All vehicles must be in a safe and roadworthy condition at all times
  • All drivers are issued with a sign on receipt, a copy of the company driver policy and procedures document
  • All commercial vehicles are subject to a documented pre-use and after use check

Utility Services has procedures and forms in place to cover all the above. 

For any vehicles falling into the following categories, there are significant additional requirements:

  • A Vehicle has a gross plated weight of more than 3.5 Tonnes, or
  • If the vehicle has no gross plated weight, an unladen weight of more than 1525kg
  • A Vehicle/Trailer combination with combined weight exceeding 3.5
